Located at 2400 S. Scenic Ave. Nathanael Greene Park stands alone as Springfield, MO's most beautiful park (my opinion). One reason for this parks enormous popularity is the Japanese stroll garden contained therein.
There is a wonderful little tea house in the center of the garden with panoramic views all around. Peace and tranquility are conveyed in every corner here. With its bridges, trellises and peaceful walkways dotting the landscape, you're sure to enjoy every minute of your visit; truly awe-inspiring.
As mentioned below, there is a fee for entrance: $3 for adults, while children under 12 are free. The gardens are seasonal as well with an opening date of April 1, and closing date of October 31. Hours are Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays) 9am to 7:30pm. There is easily over a mile of trail to walk, so you can take in as much exercise as you can handle!
