Two tennis courts are located in the NW portion of Memorial Park. There's a boulder with a plaque located on the east side of the tennis courts that reads:

LOUMENA TENNIS COURTS

THESE COURTS WERE CONSTRUCTED
WITH FUNDS BEQUEATHED TO
THE CITY FROM THE ESTATE OF
JEAN LOUMENA. THEY ARE A
LASTING MEMORIAL TO THE
MEMORY OF THIS GENEROUS
FRENCH BARBER, WHO WAS KNOWN
TO ALL AS

"FRENCHIE"
CONSTRUCTED        1959

These tennis courts are still in use albeit a little wear and tear which is normal in a climate like Susanville (4220 feet in elevation).
