Miniaturwunderland (miniature wonderland) is the largest model railway in the world. In July 2000 the idea was bron by the twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun. November 2000 they started with 20 employees and in August 2001 the first section was opened. Now, 14 years later, it is the the largest model railway in the world with 8 sections on 1.300m² model area, 13.000m track length, 335.000 lights, 215.000 figurines, 8.850 cars, 45 planes (with very real looking takeoffs and landings), 228.000 trees, 16 ships and a water tank with 30.000 liters. After final construction phase 2020 model area will be 2.300m² with 12 sections!
