Text of the Plaque:

ALMADEN FEED & FUEL

This is for the former site of the Almaden Feed & Fuel
building, established as a service station in 1934 by area
businessman John Calcaterra. The station serviced the
vehicles coming through the area to access the resort at
New Almaden, the construction of the Calero Dam, and
recreational uses at Calero Lake. The service station
included full pumps under a decorative portico. The front
porch on which this plaque is mounted was architecturally
designed to reflect the portico design. During the last half
of the twentieth century, the Almaden Feed & Fuel building
was modified into a restaurant and bar. The gas pumps
were removed, and the portico was enclosed. The building
stood vacant after the bar and restaurant closed in the
early 2000's. the property was subsequently developed into
its current state as a residential neighborhood in 2014.

Here's an old photo of the Almaden Feed & Fuel from the South Bay Riders forums web site.

A mural from the Almaden Feed & Fuel was also preserved.

The plaque can be seen in Google Street View.
