Alan McKim and Ambrose Claverhouse own vintage cars that they take on the London to Brighton run. In Brighton the two men get over excited and have a wager about who will get back to London first. Unfortunately Alan uses his car, Genevieve, as collateral for the bet. The two men employ several dirty tricks along the way. Once back in London it looks as if Ambrose will win, until his wheels get stuck in tram lines and he is diverted away from the winning post. Alan manages to keep Genevieve.
