Gilbert & Barker began manufacturing gasoline pumps for retailers in about 1911, producing the well known visible pump until about 1929, when the company name was changed to Gilbarco. This Gilbarco Calco Meter Pump is from a decade or so later, probably sometime in the 1940s. Atop is a truly cool Indian Motorcycle globe, albeit a reproduction, though the pump itself is for real. The pump has been set to 21.9 cents per gallon which, in our experience, would be a 1940s price. Painted in Pennzoil yellow, we'll guess that's what it is intended to be portrayed.

The gas station is now a Spiffy Lube shop which provides oil changes and chassis lubes. They seem to be a Mobil oil dealer and even have an old Pontiac Service sign hanging on the front of the building.

Another cool aspect of this old station is the large neon Spiffy Lube sign and the original neon bars on each of the front corners of the building. They appear to still be in working condition, although the whitebars aren't very bright any more.
Gasoline Brand: Pennzoil

Reproduction: no

Location: Outside
