Butler is a community of about 4200 people in western Missouri about 50 miles south of Kansas City. The City Hall is located across the street from the Bates County Courthouse. The building is a two-story brick building with four large columns in front. The cornice of the building is highly decorated. The building has a large portico with the following lettering: "Butler City Hall – The electric city"
