The Mission San Jose Museum has displays concerning the native Americans who inhabitd the area at the tim that the Mission was built. This placard with this display reads "Flutes, whistles, rattles and clappers were fashioned from wood, bones, reeds, turtle shells, deer hooves and hollow logs."
