This painting of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church was done in 2011 by Tea Preville, a Nelson resident whose body of work has become quite large. She is an artist of eclectic output and eclectic media, this one an oil on canvas, from her online Salmo, Fruitvale, Montrose & area gallery.

The photo was taken March 13th, 2015 at 11:45:20 A.M. Painting and photo are done/taken from across the alley behind the church, looking south. This is an odd one, done looking at the rear of the church instead of the front. Perhaps that was done because large spruce trees obscure almost the entire front of the church.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church is one of the larger churches in Salmo. It has a unique bell tower that tolls each Sunday just before services. It is considered a mission by the Nelson diocese.
