The beginning of this passage of the Palmetto Trail involves an incredible walk across an old railroad bridge across the Broad River. From the heights of this bridge, you can sometimes see bald eagles and other birds along with a great view of the river. There is free camping available nearby to this trailhead.
Once you cross the bridge, you can continue to hike another 10 miles if you wish or take a small path to the town of Peak, SC

Allowed: Walking, cycling, dogs. There can be hunters along this passage during hunting season.
Trail type: gravel mostly but the bridge is wood decked
