This plaque is dedicated to Croxton's Brigade, commanded by Brig. Gen. John T. Croxton in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The plaque describes the action on Sept. 19, 1863 at noon. This is one of seven plaques to Croxton's Brigade on the battlefield.

To reach this monument:
Park on Alexander Bridge Road. A path runs east from near the plaques to Breckinridge’s Division (CSA) & 92nd Ohio (USA). Follow this path east. A path running north to Reed's Bridge Road will intersect this path at the Brig. Gen. Benjamin H. Heim headquarters monument. Continue passed the monument along the same path, crossing a small creek to the monument.

After Croxton had been relieved by the advance of Baird’s division, he withdrew his brigade to this line to procure ammunition and reorganize. From this position it advanced about noon striking the left flank of Govan’s brigade of Liddell’s division, and gained position on the right of and on a line with its second formation of the morning. After considerable fighting on that ground it was compelled to fall back until it reached a good position where it was relieved by the advance of the troops of Johnson’s division from the direction of the Kelly field, and withdrew to the glade north of that field.
