The team at U-Auto-Pull-It Auto Parts has a long history in the automobile business dating back to 1963. It began with paint and body shop work. Over time, left over auto parts were accumulated as a by-product of that business. Before long, customers were starting to ask more and more about auto parts and the business model changed to accommodate the demand.
In 1967, Pipes Auto Parts opened. Soon other locations, including Pipes GM and Pipes Ford & Chrysler, followed specializing in car parts for specific models. A Pipes U-Pull-It opened on Mansfield Road in 1988. In 1990, another Pipes U-Pull-It was opened on Aero Drive, followed by a third opening in Bossier City on East Texas Street in 1991.
The company’s name changed in 1997 from Pipes U-Pull-It to U-Auto-Pull-It Auto Parts, and the business’s success continued. In 2003, the team opened up a Monroe location, followed by an opening in Alexandria in 2007.
In addition to offering highly competitive new part pricing, the company aggressively pursues vehicle purchases to maintain used part inventory variety and quality.
General Manager Mike Pipes says the success can be attributed to the company’s team philosophy. “At U-Auto-Pull-It we look for ways to build the skills of those who work with us so that they can move up the ladder, and we give them the right to fail,” said Mike. “We do our best to push decision making as close to the customer as we can, which means we give our Managers and Assistant Managers the authority to do what is right for the customer.
