Seifertshausen, das erstmals 1259 erwähnt wurde und früher eine selbständige Gemeinde war, gehörte zum hessischen Amt Rotenburg (Rotenburger Quart). Der Ort war neben Braach ein Gerichtssitz für das Untergericht.
Es gibt eine evangelische Kirche im Ort. Der Pfarrer ist seit November 2002 Carsten Köthe.
1259 wird erstmals etwas über den Ort Seifertshausen bekannt. Der erste Pleban (Leutepriester) im Gegensatz zu einem Ordensgeistlichen, wird genannt und das bekundet, daß in Seifertshausen bereits eine Taufkirche steht.
