Hanging in front of the former Old Knickerbockers Tobacconists storefront is an elevated tobacco pipe. This business, along with the BBC (British Bankers Club) Restaurant and Bar closed their doors a couple of years ago. The building itself is in the process of a remodel with the plan to re-open both businesses in the next one-to-two years. The historic building once housed Menlo Park's city administration offices and police headquarters for many years until becoming the BBC Restaurant and Bar in 1981.
