A plaque and a memorial tree in his honor stands at a larger war Memorial complex outside of the Ocean Springs MS Civic Center.
The plaque reads as follows:

Death Place And Date: at Santiago, Cuba 2 July 1898
Citation: Voluntarily left shelter and went, under fire, to the aid of a private in his company who was wounded.
