Der Bildhauer Martin Schöneich hat diesen Fußball aus sechs Tonnen Buntsandstein geschaffen. Er steht in der Innenstadt am Altenhof und erinnert an die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 in Deutschland. Kaiserslautern war damals eine der 12 Spielstätten.
The artist Martin Schöneich made this sculpture from 6 tons of sandstone. This ball reminds of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany. Kaiserslautern was one of the twelve locations which were selected to host the World Cup matches.
