The market fountain is situated in Essen-Rüttenscheid on Rüttenscheider Platz. There is a knee-high flat basin of the foutain with a column in the middle. On top of the column is a bronze figure. It shows a marketer sitting beneath an umbrella. Beside and behind her 6 baskets with fruits.
The fountain has been created by Adolf Wamper.
Adolf Wamper (23 June 1901 – 22 May 1977) was a German sculptor. Most of his works were figural, with some in an abstract realist style.
