This abandoned stone Canal Bridge, can be seen from the Silkin Way footpath which runs past Madeley, Telford, Shropshire. The carried the old railway line over the Shropshire Canal. The Canal and Railway have long since been demolished, and the bridge is in a state of decay. The stone arch is still standing, but for how long, is anyone's guess. It is definitely worth a visit as it tells a story of the history of this area.

The route of the old Shropshire Canal is described clearly on the following website :(http://shropshirehistory.com/canals/canals/shropshire.htm)

Section 7 refers to the stretch of canal from Windmill Incline to Blists Hill Ironworks. I believe that this is the bridge refered to at (SJ701051), although it does state that the bridge has been demolished.
