Cathedral Rocks are volcanic in origin & are slightly off shore. There are numerous small inlets which concentrate the waves as well. In stormy weather you can view the waves from the beach. You just walk over the rocks sticking close to the small cliff until you can clearly see the Cathedral Rocks, then sit down & enjoy. I was there yesterday with 13 others enjoying the views as well.
