EN:Remember escapees wagon train of August 7, 1944 in Langeais.
This type of car deported 140,000 people from 1941 to 1944.
The train was carrying about 1,500 people. The heat was scorching and occupants piled into the cars suffered from thirst .The langeaisienne population arrived en masse with fruit, water, wine and food.
The Germans opposed the distribution but eventually allow it because of the number of inhabitants. This train was unable to overcome Langeais, railway bridge Cinq-Mars-la-Pile was cut by a bombardment of Allied aircraft.
Around 20 hours the Anglo-American planes spotted the convoy and machine-gunned. Taking advantage of the confusion caused by the strafing, many military and deported escaped.

Le train transportait environ 1.500 personnes. La chaleur était torride et les occupants entassés dans les wagons souffraient de la soif .La population langeaisienne arriva en masse avec des fruits, de l'eau, du vin et des vivres.
Les Allemands s'opposèrent à la distribution mais finirent par l'autoriser en raison du nombre des habitants. Ce train était dans l'impossibilité de dépasser Langeais, le pont ferroviaire de Cinq-Mars-la-Pile ayant été coupé par un bombardement de l'aviation alliée.
Aux environs de 20 heures les avions anglo-américains repérèrent le convoi et le mitraillèrent. Profitant du désarroi provoqué par le mitraillage, de nombreux militaires et déportés s'évadèrent
