This garden started out as a project to clean up an unsightly area behind the art building at Willamette University. Professor Germaine Fuller and a group of her students spent much of 1991 designing the garden, cleaning the area and constructing the garden. When professor Fuller passed away in 1994, the garden was renamed in her memory.
The garden is small, probably less than 1,000 square feet. A path of gravel and stone leads from one entrance to the other. But there are multiple places to sit and reflect, which have coverings for the rain (this is Oregon). The plants all seem to be Japanese-native, including a Japanese Elm, and a section of the fencing comprised of bamboo. There are also gravel representations of water and a stone lantern.
Parking is on the streets nearby. On some days you will have to feed the meter.
