"The church was restored in 1862-3, to plans by James Mackenzie Roberts, a local architect. The gallery was removed; the chancel floor was raised, and the Perpendicular-style piscina and sedilia were inserted in its wall. During the work the medieval font, and the 14th-century pier base on which it was later placed, were discovered under the nave floor."
