Or is it? The coordinates of this waymark are the exact same as those listed for the Main Summit for Lawrence County in PeakBagger.com (see link, below), but translated from decimal degrees (and from DMS, just to double check) to decimal minutes. As usual, PeakBagger also lists some secondary/contender areas. On arriving at the coordinates I have given, it seems that Area 2 is actually higher. But it is outside of a private gate, and thus might be a bit tricky to get a photo of discretely. Both areas are at the extreme southern edge of Lawrence County, since it is a lower county than Barry County to its south.
Also, to the east of the given coordinates (still on the Lawrence County side of the road) it looks higher than the Main Summit and Area 2! What's going on? Is it an optical illusion? Or is PeakBagger relying too much on extrapolating between isoclines and interpretation of satellite views of topography? Of course GPSrs are not 100% accurate, but my unit kept hovering around 1506 feet at about 5 feet above the ground, whilst PeakBagger says that the summit should be 1515 feet. But the elevation seemed to go up as we drove off to the west.
