SITE OF CIVIL WAR ARSENAL
T.B. Van Horne, first pastor of First Baptist Church, founded Fayetteville Female Institute on this site in 1858. Later rechartered in 1861 as Northwest Arkansas Baptist Female Institute, it housed a Federal Arsenal which was destroyed by military action in 1862.
