Visitors to
Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center can't help bu notice the 17-foot tall statue of the infamous
'Caveman', Grants Pass' symbol of boosterism (tourism gimmick) that has greeted visitors to the city since 1971. The visitor center contains a kiosk with a large map of interesting sites to visit. There is also an electric car
EV charger for the 'green' tourists to recharge from. In addition, there is a colorfully-painted bear statue which is known as the
'Sister City Bear' in commemoration of its sister city in Rubtsovsk, Russia. There is also free Wi-Fi for those with smartphones or laptops to get internet access for whatever. The visitor center also contains a bulletin board near the front entrance that is kept up-to-date with upcoming venues and events for tourists to take advantage of throughout the year. Finally, don't forget the
Neanderthal geocache here!
