Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell gave the valley a new design in the year 1780. He built a trail through the valley. Likewise, bridges and a pavilion were created in the valley.
In this case, however, no major interference with nature has been made. So can still be considered the natural beauty of the valley.
The valley is known for its large rock collections. Even the rare kingfisher lives in the valley.
Today, the valley is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Palatinate Forest.
