The school is one of several landmarks listed in a Lawrence County rootsweb page. Of the historic Dry Valley community, the artifacts that still remain are: this former one-room school, the Dry Valley Church which is next door to it, and the Dry Valley Cemetery 1 mile to the west.

The sign on the front of the building says:

Dry Valley School District 73 1876 - 1950-51

The old hand-operated pump is still in its place, though a new well and pump has obviated its need. The outhouse is padlocked
