In the Green Wing, lower level, of the Boston Science Museum is a rolling ball sculpture by George Rhoads. A 27' tall machine raises billiard ball to the second level of the museum. The potential energy stored is the balls is released as the balls fall through the sculpture. The resulting kinetic energy has the balls turning gears, paddles, and pulleys whirling in an hypnotic display of sound and motion.
