This Freedom Rock sits in a small memorial park near on the Mississippi River. It was painted by Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II whose goal is to offer a painted memorial in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. Each of the rocks includes a flag draped over the stone canvas; the images on this rock include: “Scott County, Home of the Free Because of the Brave,” "Honor and Remember," military personnel, and eagle holding a ribbon to honor POW’s and MIA’s, Buffalo Bill, and John F. Baker Jr, a recipient of the medal of honor.
