"Four Corners Brewery: Talk with the Brew Masters

Summer is in full swing, and the Texas heat calls for an ice-cold brew. And why shouldn’t it be a quality brew? Let’s talk craft beer with Four Corners Brewing Company. Four Corners is inspired by local flavor, serving up some of the finest brews in Big D. In fact, its All Day Ales are as “refreshing as the soul of Dallas.”Four Corners founders Steve Porcari, Greg Leftwich and George Esquivel got into the brew business after years of home brewing.

As recent as four years ago there were no breweries within the city of Dallas, so they decided to do their part in elevating local beer culture. A few of their home brewed recipes have served as the basis for what are currently their most popular beers.

Local Buzz is at the lighter end of the spectrum at Four Corners and pulls in flavors from locally sourced honey and rye malt. The brew masters describe it as refreshingly crisp with a sweet floral aroma and hint of spice. It’s perfect for hot Texas summers.

Red’s Roja is another favorite at the All Day Alehouse; their on-premise taproom. Red’s Roja is a classic American amber ale, it’s medium bodied with a deep red hue, courtesy of some caramelized barley. Fresh Pacific Northwest hops add just the right dose of bitterness, flavor and aroma to balance the sweetness. This is a beer that stands up to bold Texas flavors like spicy Tex-Mex, smoked meats and sausage.

For first-time dark beer drinkers, we suggest the Block Party Porter. This robust porter is smooth and chocolatey. The brewers call it the chocolate brownie of beer. Its medium bitterness and mild hop flavor surprise many who expect a thick, syrupy beer.

Instead, the Block Party is medium bodied with notes of bitter chocolate, coffee and roasted malt.

Also on the roster of All Day Ales are La Bajada Brown Ale and Paletero Pale Ale, each with its own distinct flavors.

On the specialty and seasonal side of things, choose from El Chingón IPA, El Super Bee Saison, Celebración Belgian Strong Ale and Notorious O.A.T. Oatmeal Stout.

Take your pick, but get ’em while you can.During your next visit to Four Corners Brewing Company, sign up for a free tour of the brewery and go behind the scenes to learn how your favorite craft beers are made. You’ll get to partake an in-depth Q&A and sample a few All Day Ales. The team hosts tours each Saturday at noon and 1:30., so reserve your spot now to see—and taste—what all the talk is about."
