Crocodiles and Alligators are not picky eaters, so to ensure they get a healthy balanced diet the Alligator Farm partnered with Purina (the dog chow company) to create alligator chow.
Alligators and Crocodiles in the wild typically grab their food and hold on. If they do that with dry food they crush it and it turns to powder. Since learning to eat the dry kibble and biscuits, they are much more gentle with their food. The website states "Some of our animals have even learned to sit with their mouth open when they hear a quarter go in the machine". A large Congregation of them gathers when tossing the kibble into the water. Surprisingly they do not fight over the food, but wait patiently for it to come their way. There is an admission charge to enter the park. The feeding takes place at the Swamp Observation Deck, you walk over the swamp where the Alligators and Crocodiles live.
