The Altschlossfelsen lie on the northeastern foothills of the 406 m high Brechenberg. In a length of 1.5 km rises up to 20 m in height towering cliff of red sandstone. Millions of years ago here was a sea. For years encamped at this point sand. The sea disappeared. And new layers pressed the sand to sandstone. Wind, water, busting frost and heat dehydrators border have formed a natural work of art over time from the rock layers. Rock towers, caves and finest structures to marvel at the Altschlossfelsen.
Because of its secluded position they are not visited very often. The municipality of Eppenbrunn has put them under protection.
