The afternoon of the 18th the Brigade marched from Rossville to support Minty’s Calvary in disrupting the passage of the Confederates at Reed’s Bridge.

Arriving at this position just at dark the head of the column ran into the rear of McNair’s Confederate Brigade passing up the Alexander’s Bridge Road. Capturing 22 prisoners.

During the night the Brigade was joined by Col. Mitchell’s Brigade . Before daylight the 69th Ohio was sent to capture Reed’s Bridge, which had been taken by the Confederates the afternoon of the 18th. The Regiment charged across the bridge and set it on fire. Note
Trailhead Graphics, Inc. has produced a map of the Chickamauga Battlefield showing the locations of all of the monuments and the markers on the battlefield. Each location on the map has a number associated with it that cross-references to an index on the back of the map that has the name of the marker (called the Chick-Chatt NMP monument numbering system). This number corresponds to the structure Number listed on the NPS List of Classified Structures that is normally prefixed with the letters MT for the Chickamauga Battlefield.
