The Sèvre is the main coastal river basin that drains nearly 160 km (excluding mesh annex marsh). It rises to Sepvret at 153m altitude in the Deux-Sèvres and then crosses the Marais Poitevin before emptying into the Bay of Aiguillon. Its main right bank tributaries are upstream to downstream, the Chambon, the Egray, Autize and Vendee, on the left bank and the lambon and cute.

La Sèvre niortaise est le fleuve côtier principal qui draine le bassin sur près de 160 km (hors maillage annexe en marais). Elle prend sa source à Sepvret, à 153m d’altitude dans les Deux-Sèvres et traverse ensuite le Marais poitevin avant de se jeter dans la Baie de l’Aiguillon. Ses principaux affluents rive droite sont de l’amont vers l’aval, le Chambon, l’Egray, l’Autize et la Vendée, et en rive gauche le Lambon et le Mignon.
