This tree still grips on to the chain link fence even in death.

Over time as the tree grew parts of it grew around the fence.
At some point someone came along to clear this area around the fence. They sawed through the tree, but its grip on the fence was so strong that parts of the tree have been left holding on to it.
The fence is next to the Peak Forest Canal tow path.
