This memorial was first dedicated to the fallen in World War I, but another plaque was added later, for the fallen from World War II.

This War Memorial is located near the front entrance to Eglise Saint-Martin de Creully (Saint Martin Church). Originally, the memorial was place for those soldiers from Creully who perished in World War I; later, another plaque was added to the monument to include the soldiers from Creully who perished in World War II.
NOTE:
In some older photos that I located online, the flags of France, Britian and the United States are sometimes added to the soldier's lifted hand.

Description of Memorial: The memorial consists of a granite base (about five feet tall), supporting a full-sized soldier who is holding a rifle in his left hand and a trio of olive branches in his upheld right hand.
