The Midway Cemetery was established in the early 1900s and is still active. It is located within the Kootenay Boundary District in a rural area of Midway. It is maintained by the town of Midway: Mile 0 of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

There are approximately 193 internments most with headstones. There are large unmarked areas within the cemetery that could also have internments.

Mrs. Lander died on March 11, 1901 at her home due to complications of childbirth. Besides her husband, Arthur Lander, she left two small children to mourn her. Mrs. Lander is most likely one of the first interments in the Midway Cemetery.
