A similar plaque was placed by the state of New York a few blocks west in 1929. The campaign was during the revolutionary war against the indians that were with the British. This sign is on the lawn of the Union Presbyterian Church, the earliest church in the area. The cemetery of the church has revolutionary war soldiers.
