Henry Mitton Wilson lived in St Albans from 1905 until 1925. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and other London galleries.
The today photograph had to be taken closer to the tower than the artist would have been due to market activity. The painting, undated, is an oil on board and is in the collection of St Albans Museums.
