On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 a statue of Nelson Mandela was unveiled in The Hague by a.o. archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mandela's colleague and friend Ahmed Kathrada. The statue was made by Dutch sculptor Arie Schippers.
Originally scheduled to be unveiled by the great man himself on Nelson Mandela Day July 18th, the unveiling had to be postponed due to Nelson Mandela’s frail health
