[FR] L’oppidum de Pons deviendra avant même la conquête romaine de 58 av. J.-C. la "capitale" présumée du peuple des Santons, "l'oppidum des Santons de l'indépendance". Le site a été fouillé à maintes reprises, notamment lors de la construction de la rocade urbaine de la RN 137 en 1968 et pendant des travaux d'urbanisme jusque dans les années 1980.
[EN] Even before the roman conquest of 58 BC, the oppidum of Pons had become the presumed capital of the Santons people. The site has been the subject of archeological digs on many occasions, notably during the construction of the urban bypass of the RN 137 in 1968 and during urban construction work continuing through the 1980s.
