In Red Lion, at intersection of PA 24 and Springvale Road is this sign for the borough of Red Lion.
The sign is on the northeast corner of the intersection. It states:
"Red Lion
Named from a Nearby Tavern Sign"
There is also "Dallastown - 2" and "Founded 1736."
The name was made official in 1880 when the settlement was incorporated as a borough.
