This pole-mounted civil defense siren is located at the volunteer fire department in the small hamlet of Philomont, in Loudoun County, Virginia. It was installed in the 1970s as part of Washington, DC's old CD system. This particular siren is an ACA Allertor, one of the best-known sirens ever made. This one was manufactured sometime between 1972 and 1980. There was another siren of this same model in the nearby town of Middleburg, but it was removed in 2011, making Philomont the only fire station in Loudoun County that currently uses a house siren.
