Perrywood Garden Centre began over 30 years ago when Alan Bourne started growing and selling plants. He did this on land which had been bought by his parents in the 1950s when they grew pick-your-own strawberries and potatoes. He and his wife took over the business in 1984 since when it has become an award-winning garden centre which attracts customers from all over Essex and beyond.
The buildings on this 25-ace site have been continuously modernised to make them a state-of-the-art facility in which many of the plants for sale are 'Perrywood Grown'. There is a large fancy goods department with displays changing according to the seasons, a 240-seat restaurant serving made-on-the-premises food, and extensive plant and garden supplies sales areas.
The co-ordinates are for the entrance off the Kelvedon Road, B1023, north of Tiptree.
