The azimuth mark is a standard disk stamped, WOLLEY 1935 1971 (re-set in 1971). It is set in a rock outcrop in the center of the v formed by a road leading northwest to a micro-wave tower, about 70 yards north of the center of the intersection and 3 feet south of a witness post (now fallen) and sign which is supported by a large cairn. The mark is 0.8 mile north of the benchmark station along the highway.
To reach the benchmark station from the court house in Florence go east along butte avenue for 0.4 mile to the highway, continue ahead on the Florence-Kelvin Highway for 24.6 miles to the station on the right on top of the summit and just past a side road right. Height of light above station mark 5 feet. Airline distance and direction from nearest town--6 miles southwest of kelvin.

Most people reach this area from Florence as it is the easiest and most direct way from Tucson or Phoenix. It is on a good county maintained dirt road. From the intersection of HWY 79 and the Florence-Kelvin Highway, it is about 23.3 miles, on the left. Park on the road to the microwave tower, also on the left.
