The Opera House was built in 1875. For almost 100 years it played host to theatrical productions. In 1971 the town's council chamber moved into part of the Opera House and the rest was converted into offices.
The restored Orangeville Town Hall and Opera House re-opened in July 1994. It was again renovated in 2013. it plays host to Theatre Orangeville, Orangeville Music Theatre and the Orangeville Concert series.
