Type de bouée qui marquait l’entrée des
chenaux prioritaires.
Ces bouées étaient communément appelées « nonnes »
parce que noires et silencieuses comme les religieuses.
Elles étaient plantées dans un flotteur et surmontées d’un conifère
Celle-ci porte l’inscription : D.P.W.1897 et marquait l’entrée
du chenal que le vapeur TERREBONNE empruntait pour
desservir CONTRECOEUR entre 1870 et 1935

This type of buoy marked the entrance of
priority channels.
The buoys were commonly called "nuns"
because black and silent as religious.
They were planted in a float and topped with a conifer
It bears the inscription: DPW1897 and marked the entrance
channel for the steam TERREBONNE borrowed to
CONTRECOEUR serve between 1870 and 1935
