This overlook is dedicated to Mr Andrews a long time supporter of the Mill Mountain Park area. A way adding interest to the overlook platform, a directional compass star was inlaid in the decking of the platform.
A Plaque about the namesake reads:
"M. Carl Andrews Overlook
Dedicated July 12, 1995
In recognition and memory of M. Carl Andrews who served as chairman of the Mill Mountain Development Committee June 16, 1969 – November 29, 1993.
Through his leadership and guidance many improvements were made in the park. His goal was always to protect and preserve Mill Mountain as valuable resource for all Roanoke Citizens and visitors to enjoy.
His contributions will always be remembered
