Each year in August, during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Royal Mile and its surroundings turn into a street fair with numerous street art performances at many locations, carnival atmosphere and visitors from all over the world. Moreover, there are over different 3000 shows connected to the Fringe, mainly comedy and theatre, but also dance, music, exibitions and others.
The street performances are free (of course, the artists will welcome your donation if you enjoyed their performane), and there are also some free shows. Yet, for most of the shows you need a (paid) ticket.
