Near Piermont, within the Tallman Mountain State Park, is the Piedmont Marsh, which has this kiosk that tells about the marsh.

The marsh is located well within the Tallman Mountain State Park. From US 9W, turn east onto Rockland Road, then turn at the sign for the state park. There is a road to the site, but at the time of my visit, the road was not open. The best thing is to stop at the ranger station/information station and get directions. We parked in a picnic area and walked down a path to the base of the fluff and the marsh. The kiosk is located by a pool (empty at the time).

The kiosk is a three-sided structure, each side having information about the marsh and the Hudson River system. One side has a map of the marsh, some facts about the marsh and what to see and do around the marsh. Another has an artistic drawing of a marsh with the title, "Natural Communities," and animals and plants in it. The third one, titled, "Hudson River Estuary," talks about how much of the Hudson River is considered tidal and about estuaries.

The marsh is beautiful and worth a visit. While we were there, we saw an osprey carrying a snake as it was flying.
